About Crooked Creek
Crooked Creek drains 18 square miles of PA Erie County into Lake Erie at the village of West Springfield, the smallest stream in the SHA-tracked PA group and dependent on rain for runs. The creek runs tight to wooded banks with access at the Route 5 crossing and the lakeshore mouth. Best fished as a backup or a proxy when larger PA tribs are blown out.
October through April when flows are present. Rain-dependent; runs quick after rises. Use the Elk Creek proxy for flow estimation. The optimal fishing flow on Crooked Creek is 15–40 CFS — flows above this range are typically too high and stained, flows below run low and clear.
