The Shimano Sedona 2500 is a reliable, budget-friendly spinning reel well-suited for Great Lakes tributary fishing, especially for trout and steelhead with light presentations. Its 5.0:1 gear ratio and 8.8 lb max drag make it a capable option for float fishing with light jigs, casting small spinners in river runs, or light shore jigging in nearshore lake trout zones. The 245g weight keeps fatigue manageable during long wade sessions on tributary streams.
