The Abu Garcia Max SX is a capable lightweight spinning reel well-suited for Great Lakes tributary fishing, whether you're drifting spawn sacs under a float or bottom bouncing beads for steelhead in fast runs. Its 7-bearing system and instant anti-reverse keep tension locked during hard-charging fish, while the braid-ready aluminum spool handles modern superlines without slipping. At 5.2:1 with 27 inches of line recovery per crank, it moves enough line to manage big trout in current without overworking the angler.
